Brian Nightengale

Brian S. Nightengale, RPh, PhD, is a Vice President and leads the Outreach and Market Research services. He works with multiple biopharmaceutical research and manufacturing firms in developing product commercialization strategies and research program consultation across all phases of the development process. Dr. Nightengale provides expertise and insights related to business development, outsourced staffing models, payer market research and surveillance, and various health economics and outcomes research applications.

Dr. Nightengale has over 16 years of experience in health economics and health outcomes research, pharmaceutical utilization, decision support, and quality improvement research. In addition, Dr. Nightengale has extensive experience in pharmaceutical marketing, strategy, and health policy analysis. He provides strategic and research consulting for numerous major pharmaceutical and biotechnology firms and has worked with many health plans, provider organizations, and state agencies in designing and implementing pharmaceutical utilization and quality improvement projects.

He has participated in the design and development of over 50 software-based economic models and formulary dossiers for use in managed care and institutional decision making. Dr. Nightengale has published and/or presented numerous manuscripts, posters, and podium presentations and has managed and/or provided input on well over 150 outcomes research and strategy engagements. Dr. Nightengale's areas of particular therapeutic expertise include mental health, cardiology, oncology, and infectious disease.

Prior to joining Xcenda, Dr. Nightengale served as an Assistant Professor at the College of Pharmacy, University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. He received his Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmaceutical Sciences with an emphasis in health economics from the University of South Carolina. Prior to that, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the University of Oklahoma, with pre-pharmacy studies conducted at Oklahoma State University. Dr. Nightengale also completed a 3-month pharmaceutical industry internship in the New Product Planning (early phase marketing) department of Eli Lilly and Company.
