Gene Reeder

Gene Reeder, RPh, PhD, leads Managed Care Network, an Xcenda market research collaboration. His research and academic experience includes the economic evaluation of pharmaceuticals and medical interventions, drug benefit design, formulary management, and healthcare public policy. Dr. Reeder has practice experience in the areas of community, long-term care, and managed care pharmacy. He has served on several formulary management committees and has been involved in the application of outcomes evidence in the formulary decision-making process.

Dr. Reeder is a Past President and Fellow of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy. He has also served as Treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors. In addition, he is also a Past President of the Academy of Pharmaceutical Research and Science of the American Pharmacists Association and a Fellow of that Academy.

Prior to joining Xcenda, Dr. Reeder was Professor of Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research at the University of South Carolina (USC) College of Pharmacy, where he now holds the title of Distinguished Professor Emeritus. He has received both the Outstanding Teacher Award and the Outstanding Researcher Award from the USC College of Pharmacy and was recognized in 2006 with the AMCP Distinguished Service Award.

Dr. Reeder has published more than 60 refereed research articles in his field. He has also authored book chapters on pharmacoeconomics, outcomes research, research study design, and managed care pharmacy. In addition, he has participated in the grant submission and review processes at the state and federal levels and has a successful record of extramurally funded research.
