What Payers are Thinking: April 2010
- 58% of payers expect that between 2011 and 2012 they will increase the use of manufacturer contracts (rebates) for products such as physician-administered drugs that are managed under the medical benefit
- 70% of payers say that coinsurance is an optional part of their benefit offering, and 95% of payers indicated that more employers are choosing this option
- 81% of payers have seen an increase in the patient percentage contribution (coinsurance) that employers have chosen for the drug benefit over the past 3 years
