Somali Misra Burgess, PhD

Senior Director, Outsourcing Solutions Team, Global Health Economics & Outcomes Research

As a Senior Director and Patient-Reported Outcomes (PRO) Thought Leader in the Global Health Economics and Outcomes Research (GHEOR) team at Xcenda, I am excited to utilize my years of experience in this growing PRO discipline.

At Xcenda, I’m able to apply almost 17 years of consulting experience and 3 years of pharmaceutical industry experience to provide clients with the appropriate PRO-related solutions. Prior to joining Xcenda, I founded Strategic Outcomes Services, a boutique consulting company that specialized in the development, validation, and evaluation of clinical outcome assessments (COAs) and regulatory strategy. Other positions that I have held include Vice President in the Endpoint Development and Outcomes Assessment group at Adelphi Values (a global healthcare consulting company specializing in the area of PROs) and Director in the Global Health Outcomes Strategy and Research division at Allergan, heading up the products/indications in Allergan Medical, Health, and Medical Dermatology. I also have extensive experience in developing and demonstrating value arguments for new and existing products/indications, PRO evaluations, questionnaire development and validation, endpoint development, patient-centric research, and regulatory strategies and submissions. My therapeutic areas of expertise include, but are not limited to, medical dermatology, aesthetic indications, neurosciences, and urology.

I earned my PhD in Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research from the College of Pharmacy, University of Georgia. Additionally, I am a member of the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) and the International Society for Quality of Life Research (ISOQOL).
